profile

Ted has been in and around private equity for most of his life. He is a transactional attorney in New York where he was born and raised. After graduating Gettysburg College, Ted traveled and worked in Europe, the Middle East, Sri Lanka and Southeast Asia before relocating to California. After his stint on the West Coast, Ted moved back to New York to attend New York Law School.

After passing the New York Bar Exam, Ted went to a private equity-backed, and now publicly listed, securities services firm where he joined the Business Development Team selling into advisors, namely law firms and investment banks. Ted then moved over to a leading, international law firm on the business development side where he worked with the Corporate, M&A and Investment Funds groups to develop relationships with new clients and expand relationships with current clients to grow the Firm’s global footprint.

Ted has been with several leading law firms focused of growing their businesses and increasing their client base in several areas such as corporate, capital markets, M&A, financial institutions, project finance and investment funds, including private equity, alternative investment, venture capital & emerging companies, growth equity, etc. Ted has worked across industries and with teams in the U.S. Canada, the Caribbean, Latin America, Western Europe, CEE and Asia. Also, Ted has worked with an international consulting firm on the Private Equity Team partnering with private equity clients on their portfolio company acquisitions.

At MergersCorp, Ted connects sellers and buyers of companies and assets in the lower and middle market (average deal size US $25M — US $250M with mandates up to US $2B), leveraging his network of investment funds and companies, strategic investor groups, investment banks and law firms. Buyers include private equity funds, investment companies, sovereign wealth funds, family offices and HNW individuals. Acquisition targets include stand-alone entities and add-ons as well as company business lines and assets across industries, sports (football (soccer) clubs), media & entertainment, oil & gas, energy & power (renewable, geo-thermo, solar, wind, hydro, etc.), logistics & supply chain, manufacturing, financial & professional services, construction & real estate, software & SaaS, retail & consumer goods, infrastructure (pipelines), operations (call centers), staffing companies, etc.

When not working alongside his clients, Ted loves spending time with his family, his wife and kids, and friends at the Jersey Shore. Ted’s hobbies include tennis, racquetball (his nine-year-old recently got him into it), basketball, spending time on the beach and pretending he knows how to surf.
