profile

Bob brings over fifty years of comprehensive business experience to his transactional advisory role, specializing in strategic mergers, acquisitions, and business development.

Bob’s extensive background in business intermediation began in 1988 when he became a licensed Business Broker and joined Canadian Business Brokers (CBB). Later, the president of CBB and Bob started a new company in the business brokerage field. His leadership skills were formalized through his service as the President of the Western Canada Business Brokers Association (WCBBA) for three consecutive years. In this capacity, Bob significantly elevated industry standards by providing critical education and training, and by establishing a formal ethical procedure paper for Realtors. He was also instrumental in drafting many of the commercial legal documents utilized by the Vancouver Real Estate Board (VREB), ultimately guiding the WCBBA organization through a strategic merger with the VREB’s commercial division. These achievements highlight his deep understanding of transactional governance and market consolidation.

Prior to his brokerage career, Bob excelled as a business consultant specializing in providing professional advice for company turn-arounds and restructuring initiatives. His expertise in executive management was recognized at the highest levels: he was directly hired by the Premier of B.C. to implement transformative changes within the Queen’s Printer, and he was retained by the Canadian Daily Newspapers to operate their Nadbak division in Vancouver.

Bob’s earliest operational background was as the owner and publisher of a suburban group of community newspapers. This enterprise was a complex vertical integration, encompassing commercial printing, forms printing, graphic arts, a web offset press company, and a distribution company. This history as an operator and owner provides him with invaluable firsthand insight into the true operational value and challenges of a business—a crucial advantage in M&A negotiations.

In founding and developing his advisory firm, Bob strategically established affiliations with several large brokerage firms across North America and globally. These alliances provide a robust platform for identifying and securing prime business acquisition opportunities and grant his firm direct access to extensive networks of registered sellers and buyers. His passion for this chosen profession is deeply rooted in his five decades of business experience, always guided by a strong belief in integrity and fairness to all concerned parties.

Mr. Bob is a Licensed Business Broker in Canada. His notable achievements include being named President of Western Canada Business Brokers, receiving the Outstanding Young Man award in Manitoba, serving as Past President of the Manitoba Community Newspapers, and being recognized as Rotarian of the Year.
