Tong Wu

Genevieve (Tong) Wu is an emerging finance professional and undergraduate student currently reading Statistics, Economics and Finance at University College London (UCL). Based in the London area, she combines a rigorous quantitative academic background with hands-on exposure to major international financial institutions, positioning herself strongly for a dynamic career in global finance, corporate banking, and mergers and acquisitions.

Her academic journey is marked by exceptional distinction. Prior to entering UCL, Genevieve completed her A-Levels at Cardiff Sixth Form College, one of the UK’s leading academic institutions, where she achieved an outstanding A*A*AA grading in Mathematics, Further Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry. This intensive STEM foundation equipped her with advanced analytical, problem-solving, and numerical skills, which she now applies directly to complex financial modeling, economic analysis, and statistical evaluation at UCL.

Complementing her academic credentials, Genevieve has proactively built a diverse portfolio of practical experience across top-tier financial markets in both the United Kingdom and China. She currently serves as an M&A Intern at MergersCorp in London, where she assists with transaction-related workflows, industry research, and financial analysis. Prior to this role, she gained comprehensive exposure to commercial and investment banking through sequential summer internships. At CITIC Securities Company Limited, she worked on-site within corporate banking, contributing to client evaluations and market research. This built upon her previous corporate banking internship at the Bank of China in the summer of 2024, where she evaluated corporate loan portfolios and observed commercial lending operations. Additionally, her early exposure includes a wealth management internship at the Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (ICBC) in the summer of 2023, where she supported advisors with client portfolio reviews and asset allocation strategies.
